Cecil graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Cecil went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he received the Dean's Academic Merit Scholarship and graduated with honors. During law school, Cecil was a member of the Moot Court Board and National Moot Court Team, as well as, Articles Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
